The dress designer Marilyn Monroe disapproves that Kim Kardashian has used the historical piece. The last MET Gala that took place on May 2, 2022 was very important for celebrities and the fashion industry. Sporting classic old Hollywood hairstyles, Blake Lively taking on the Statue of Liberty-inspired night for his look, and Kylie causing laughs by wearing a bonnet headpiece. Kim Kardashian caused amazement wearing a very special piece of Marilyn Monroe.

She walked like a Goddess on the red carpet, boasting that she was wearing the much admired and remembered dress that caused a revolution for its time: the naked dress was as criticized as it was daring and loved. However, many did not agree that the socialite used such a special piece… especially the designer who created it especially for the actress.

Bob Mackie exploded when he saw that Kim Kardashian used one of the most important designs of his career. “Big mistake,” he called it. The dress was worn by the big Hollywood star in the 1960s. Bob reveals that the sketch was made way back in 1962.

He is remembered for the day he sang “Happy Birthday Mr. President” to John F. Kennedy. No one had used it since then until Kim received it from Ripley’s Believe It or Not!

Of course the designer disagrees. In an interview for Entertainment Weekly, Bob mentioned that Marilyn was a goddess and decided to create such a special piece for her. He is very angry to see it in someone else. “I thought it was a big mistake. Marilyn was a Goddess. A crazy Goddess but a Goddess. She was just fabulous. No one was like that and it was made for her, it was designed for her, no one else should be seen in that dress.” declared.

It is said that when the socialite went to Ripley’s to try on the dress, they gave her a lock of Monroe’s hair. The expert assures that it could be false. Kim Kardashian does not have the approval of Bob Mackie, the designer who created the historic piece; however, she used it for a few minutes on her way down the red carpet to have her pictures taken. Then she changed to a replica.
