Developers of NBA 2K, WWE 2K and LEGO 2K Drive have undergone layoffs

Several developers from the Visual Concepts studio, known for the games NBA 2K, WWE 2K and LEGO 2K Drive, reportedthat the company has undergone a number of layoffs. In particular, layoffs swept through the studio’s office in Austin.

According to former executive producer Joseph Cowan, the cuts included employees in the design, testing and production departments. Cowen himself called the layoffs a big shock.

Visual Concepts was founded in 1988. The studio has branches in Austin, China, Korea, Los Angeles, Budapest and other countries. The team was bought by SEGA in 1999 and then sold to Take-Two Interactive in 2005.
