Developers will need to create two-hour-long game trials for the new PlayStation Plus, according to Game Developer

The nuevo PlayStation Plus we already know that will be activated in a couple of months and will be divided into three different levels. The most expensive of them, and in turn the one that will offer the most benefits, will be the PlayStation Premium level, with which users will have access to game trials for a limited time.

On this basis, the Game Developer portal claims to have some sources that have informed it that Sony has begun to contact developers about this matter to inform them that they must create tests of their video games that have a duration of at least two hours.

Specifically, this will affect all those titles that cost more than 33 euros, while the rest will not need to have this type of evidence, according to the new policy that Sony has established. In principle, the companies have been informed of this change, which means that from now on they will have to dedicate part of their time and resources to develop them.

The rule would not apply to those video games that are already on sale and will not apply to future titles that are released on PlayStation VR. However, it would not be necessary for the demo to be available from day one either, since it would allow a period of up to three months for its corresponding publication.

Also, the tests would have to remain active on the PlayStation Store for at least a year, although developers will also be allowed to offer free weekends or tests that can be accessed by any PlayStation user.

Game Developer has indicated that it has contacted Sony about this issue, but has not received any response so far. What is clear is that the new PlayStation Plus will be activated on June 22nd in Europe and In this table you can consult all the benefits that offer their different levels.
