Diablo Turns 25 – Blizzard Entertainment Celebrates Event With Anniversary Video

On December 31, 1996, the release of the original Diablo… Company Blizzard Entertainment made the players a New Year’s gift, initiating the legendary series of action RPGs, which later became a cult.

Diablo not only conquered the hearts and minds of computer game fans, but even spawned its own subgenre, in which many “diabloid” clones were released.

Since then, the franchise has celebrated its birthday every New Year, and yesterday the iconic action-RPG turned 25 years old. On this occasion, the developers released a trailer with cutscenes from all parts of Diablo. In addition, the commemorative video includes memorable footage from BlizzCon, cosplay, and the Diablo Immortal announcement.

The first Diablo is currently available for purchase on GOG. Last year, a remaster of the sequel was released on a new engine, and Diablo 3 is hosting the Fall of Tristram event.
