The “golden” Olympian of the length “flew” at 8.36m. in his sixth and last attempt, with wind within the permissible limits (1.9). Throughout the competition there was a strong favorable wind, which Jamaican Cary McLeod took advantage of to jump 8.52m. and take first place.
