Officials confirmed that the activities of the 10th edition of the “Salty and Sea Fishing” festival in Dibba Al-Hisn received a great turnout and interest that exceeded expectations, noting that the city established its festival, which concluded recently, as one of the most prominent specialized heritage and tourism events in the Emirates.
During the period from August 31 to September 3, tens of thousands of visitors enjoyed many activities and heritage programs that celebrate the salt industry and sea fishing during the festival.
Talib Al-Yahyaei, Director of Dibba Al-Hisn Municipality, said: “We were working hard before the start of each session to make the festival an unforgettable event, and an experience that embodies our ancient maritime heritage in the best way, especially that the coast, fishing and salty are all distinctive features of the city of Dibba Al-Hisn,” adding that the festival “like An opportunity to learn about the salty industry and promote our authentic culture, as it was not just a cultural and economic event, but a school for teaching and learning, and a theater for display, enjoyment and fun.” He stressed that the municipality intends to include more heritage and historical elements in the upcoming festival sessions.
In its 10th edition, the festival witnessed an increase of more than 23% in the number of visitors, in addition to the expansion of its wings, an increase of 25%, with sales exceeding one million dirhams.
