Once upon a time…another situation of femicide in the province and they go…. According to the news published by Rio Negro, there were infinite situations of family violence that Mrs. endured. Gisela Fuentes on behalf of her ex-partner and father of her teenage daughter Roberto Figueroa.

Finally she was encouraged to report him to the judicial branch of the province, but despite this the femicide recently killed her, entering her home in the city of Centenario and carrying a firearm. A fact that had already been repeated in 2021: she also entered – despite the precautionary measures – her home, fired the firearm, inserting the shots into an internal wall of the house, where a daughter of the victim and a friend. This fact was “investigated” by the prosecutor’s office and the case was closed. The prosecutor raised the lack of evidence and argued that part of that evidence, such as the deformed leads, was lost in another prosecutor’s office by mistake!

Didn’t the prosecution request psychological reports from the aggressor and the victim from the intervening Family Court, and did the Violence Office not interview the victim’s daughters or her friend? How can you disbelieve the victim’s story? For all this, the aggressor was released and months later he fulfilled his objective. Now it is too late… no matter how much the Attorney General deigns to ask for explanations, when he should have checked whether the prosecutors under his charge actually internalize gender issues, what a victim is, since it affects not only their rights but also the United Nations regulations on women. Even the State of Neuquén can be denounced again before the Inter-American Court of Human Rights as Mrs. Ivana Rosales. The constitutional regulations cannot be ignored, which contemplates the rights of women, the Belem Do Pará convention and the rights of children Law 2,302. Today, we Neuquéns mourn one more victim of femicide during the year, who cried out for justice as his last breath, to join the ranks of victims. Surely the provincial government will decree a day of mourning, and let the next one pass… Specificity, empathy, commitment, all of this is evidently lacking. A crude example for women to desist from continuing to report their attackers.
