August 1980. A plane is tragically the victim of a fire. Luckily, he managed to land safely. But, when the emergency services open it, all the passengers are dead…

The facts took place on August 19, 1980. As Saudi Arabian flight 163 took off, a fire started. The crew therefore had to turn back to Riyadh airport from where theplane was gone.

Fortunately, the landing was safe. However, the captain made a strange decision: instead of applying the emergency brakes, he continued to taxi on the airstrip to finally stop the plane six minutes later. And, when the emergency services wanted to evacuate the passengers, the whole interior of the plane caught fire and unfortunately none of them might survive…

According to the experts, it is this decision of the captain, still misunderstood today, which caused the death of all the people on board the plane, in other words 287 passengers and 14 crew members.
