Cristiano Ronaldo has long since asked for release from Manchester United. His advisor offers him like sour beer – but the interest of top clubs is limited.
Even during “family time” Cristiano Ronaldo hardens his muscles in the fitness room. He lets his more than 500 million fans in the social networks know “Hard work”. The message: The Portuguese superstar is in top form and wants to attack once more in sport – and probably not succumb to the temptation of an unbelievable salary offer in the fall of his career.

Ronaldo is said to have been offered 250 million euros for two years by a club from Saudi Arabia, as reported by the Portuguese broadcasters TVI and CNN Portuguesa. But for Ronaldo this astronomical sum is apparently not appealing. According to information from AS and ESPN, the 37-year-old wants to stay in Europe for at least a year, he is longing for more trophies – which he does not want to win with Manchester United.
Because Ronaldo makes his desire to change more than clear, the Portuguese is already absent from the training camp of his still club in Thailand and Australia – officially he needs a break for family reasons. But his request for release has long been an open secret, adviser Jorge Mendes is currently offering the five-time world footballer in the top floor of European football like sour beer. But there are no lucrative offers.
Because only a few find a commitment from the aging Portuguese really tempting. “As much as I value Cristiano Ronaldo as one of the greatest, a transfer would not fit into our philosophy,” said Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn recently and put a stop to a repeatedly rumored move to the German record champions.
Thomas Tuchel doesn’t have the goal guarantor at the top of his list either. “Thomas, are we going to sign Cristiano Ronaldo?” asked a curious follower at the Los Angeles training camp. “I won’t tell you,” said the Chelsea FC team manager tight-lipped and without batting an eyelid. For Tuchel, strengthening the defensive “priority”. Most recently, Mendes is said to have made representations to the French industry leader Paris St. Germain, the bosses there apparently waved them off, as did those of FC Barcelona.
United are still denying transfer rumours
“He’s not for sale. We’re planning with him for the season and want to be successful together,” United’s new team manager Erik ten Hag recently denied the rumors of a change. But Ronaldo is no longer interested in Manchester because he missed qualifying for the Champions League, and the top-class reinforcements he has requested have not yet materialized.
The 37-year-old would like to prove himself in the premier class for another year. But there is still no offer from a top European club, he might get nervous – and would at least have one last exit to cash in in the fall of his career.
