After the unfortunate, embarrassing and sad scenes of violence between barristas that left one dead, several injured and forced the cancellation of the match that Unión Magdalena and Junior tied 1-1, in the 72nd minute, at the Sierra Nevada stadium, in Santa Marta, on matchday 17 of the League, the Championship Disciplinary Committee met in an extraordinary manner this Tuesday and decided to award the three points to Junior and severely sanction the places of both clubs.
The communication published by the Committee resolves the following:
“Unión Magdalena SA (“Unión Magdalena”) sanctioned with defeat due to withdrawal or resignation and a fine of forty million pesos ($40,000,000) for incurring in the infraction contained in paragraph h) of article 83 of the CDU of the FCF, in the match played for the 17th date of the Liga BetPlay DIMAYOR I 2022 against Club Deportivo Popular Junior FCSA Article 8°.
“Unión Magdalena SA (“Unión Magdalena”), sanctioned with ten (10) dates of suspension from the market and a fine of fifteen million six hundred thousand pesos ($15,600,000), for incurring in the infraction contained in numerals 1, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 of article 84 of the FCF CDU, in the match played for the 17th date of the Liga BetPlay DIMAYOR I 2022 against Club Deportivo Popular Junior FCSA Article 9”.
“Club Deportivo Popular Junior FCSA (“Junior”), sanctioned with three (3) dates of suspension of the place and a fine of eleven million pesos ($11,000,000), for incurring in the infraction contained in numerals 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 of article 84 of the FCF CDU, in the match played for the 17th date of the Liga BetPlay DIMAYOR I 2022 against the club Unión Magdalena SA”.
