The director of said hospital is at great risk. He faces serious accusations from the secretary general of SAMES (Autonomous Union of Doctors of Senegal) and head of the surgery and forensic medicine department, Dr. Ibrahima Sitor Souleymane Sarr. The complaints include charges of “insults, assault, and even death threats.”

According to Libération, the director must appear this Thursday, November 23 before the Criminal Chamber of the High Court of Dakar. These accusations stem from a meeting organized following the filing of a strike notice by SAMES. Management summoned the SAMES section of the hospital to a meeting held on September 21, 2023, in the presence of the director and two members of the SAMES office, namely the secretary general and his deputy.
According to union representatives, during this meeting, Cheikh Mbaye Seck made “extremely serious remarks, endangering the physical, moral and professional integrity of the general secretary”.
