General view of the constitutive session of the investigation commission of the Madrid City Council on the alleged case of espionage by the EMVS on Isabel Díaz Ayuso.

Two directors of the Municipal Housing and Land Company (EMVS) appear today Monday in the second session of the investigation commission for the alleged espionage with municipal funds to the regional president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, and her entourage. They are the Head of the Contracting Department, María Teresa Peral García, and the manager of the company, José Antonio Acosta. Who will not attend today “due to scheduling problems” will be the former director of Coordination of the Mayor’s Office, Ángel Carromero, which opens to do so on another date. His resignation as general director of the Mayor’s Office Coordination a few hours after the scandal broke has been during these weeks one of the points most exploited by the opposition in its questions to the mayor, José Luis Martínez- Almeida. According to sources consulted by this newspaper, one of the keys that Carromero is pursuing is that his statement comes after that of Almeida, who was summoned for the last session on May 9. The mayor already put the focus on his then general director of Mayoral Coordination in his first appearance the same morning the case broke when he assured that «at the slightest suspicion» any position in the City Council would have to resign. Just a few hours later, Carromero’s resignation was notified. The spokeswoman for Más Madrid at the City Council, Rita Master, hopes that Carromero will finally appear in the investigation commission and accused the mayor, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, of continuing without explaining the reasons for the resignation. Maestre pointed out that the mayor of Madrid “does not keep his word” after having promised to seat all the members of the Popular Party called to testify at the commission table. Maestre hopes that he will attend soon, since “it is his responsibility” . “It was just another lie. He said that Carromero had to sit down because he has to answer the question that no one has yet been able to answer: if there was no corruption plot, if there was no espionage or if no one tried to use a public company of the City Council to spy on the president of the Community of Madrid, why did Ángel Carromero resign? That question has not been answered », according to Maestre. The councilman of Recupera Madrid, José Manuel Calvo, showed the support of his group to that the agenda of the investigation commission be adapted to that of the former director of the Mayor’s Office CoordinationÁngel Carromero, because “the priority is to listen to him”.The delegate of the Government and general secretary of the PSOE-Madrid City, Mercedes Gonzálezhas confirmed his willingness to appear in the investigation commission, but has asked the presidency, in the hands of Cs, to do so on another day than initially planned, today Monday, April 4.Detective Julio Gutiez and the president of New Generations, Bea Fanjul, They have also not responded to the request to testify and their appearance is not expected.
