On the eve of Black Friday 2023when operators make offers to contract their services, a new survey was released with the most contracted cell phone plans in Brazil this year.
The study was carried out by MelhorPlano.net and considered the contracting of mobile packages carried out through the platform, between the months of January and October 2023, with the percentage of contracting in relation to the total subscriptions of the respective operator. As you can see in the table above, the one that had the largest share within an operator was Mega 40, from Surf Telecom. It was signed by 99.33% of users who preferred the company when purchasing the mobile phone service.
Next comes Easy 14 GB, from Icon Next, with 86.84%; and Algar 15 Giga, from Algar Telecom, which was the preference of 83.51% of people who chose the provider.
In the case of the giants Claro, Vivo and TIM, the choices were more fragmented internally. In the first, the winner was Claro Controle 15 GB (60.63%). In the second, the Vivo Controle 14 GB (37.27%) dominated the options. Finally, TIM Controle 25 GB on the bill (32.25%) was this operator’s preference.
The research also showed that 14 of the 20 most sold packages in 2023 are of the control type, with a predominance of 70% of the results. The list also included four postpaid plans and two prepaid plans among the main subscriptions of the year.
When we analyze the number of internet franchises, 16 of the top 20 are in the ranges from 0 to 20 GB – a category which has nine packages in the ranking – or from 20 to 40 GB – which encompasses seven alternatives.
Another discovery is that price is also a more relevant factor in the choice. 14 of the 20 most subscribed plans are among the cheapest from each telecom provider. Even though these packages have the worst cost-benefit ratios.
