Tourism seems to be raising its head in Colombia after two years in which it experienced the impact of restrictions due to the pandemic and restrictive measures for citizens.

During the first quarter of 2023, more than 1,188,200 Colombians left the country for tourism, events and business reasons, according to data collected by Migración Colombia.

A figure that shows a growth of 12% if compared to this same period during the previous year and that demonstrates the recovery of one of the sectors most affected by the covid-19 health crisis.

In recent months, Colombians who have decided to leave the country again have defined their preferred destinations: the United States, Mexico, Spain, Panama and the Dominican Republic, top this list that accounts for more than 70% of the total trips by nationals, as established by the Colombian Association of Travel and Tourism Agencies (Anato).
