ROME: The remains of a Roman cargo ship more than 2,000 years old have been found off the coast of Italy. The remains were found on the seabed near the port of Civitavecchia, 80 kilometers northwest of Rome.
B.C. The ship is believed to be one or two centuries old. It is more than 20 meters long. There are hundreds of Roman jars on board. Officials said most of them were not destroyed. The vessel is believed to be evidence of ancient sea-going trade. The ship was discovered by a remote-controlled robot.
