Washington: The soil collected by the Osiris Rex probe from the asteroid Bannu contains unknown dust. Scientists are trying to find out what the black powder contains. It is clear that it is not rock powder. Researcher at the University of Canberra in Australia Dr. Brad Tucker said.

Bannu’s position is now about 34 crore kilometers from Earth. Bannu formed during the ‘infancy’ of the solar system in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. The circumference is 490 meters. Researchers have also found a ‘fossil’ that helps to know about the beginning of the solar system. Hence the sample collected from it is important.

The sample was collected from Bannu by the Osiris Rex probe on October 20, 2020. The module probe containing the sample was sent to Earth a few days ago. The Osiris Rex mission lasted seven years.
