For asking a customer to choose between whipped cream and spread on his waffle, Loris was fired. The ex-employee denounces a false pretext after his participation in the recent strikes.

Some commotion at Mickey’s. An employee of the Disneyland Paris amusement park received a letter of dismissal on Monday after an incident with a customer on the filling of his waffle. The cast member was one of the park’s active strikers last June and today denounces, together with unions, a false excuse to “make him pay” for his position a few weeks ago, reveals The Parisian.

Loris was among five strikers in the process of being fired after blocking the show “Dreams” last June. He is the first and only one to have been fired since the strike movement. The 20-year-old had worked at the park for a year.

A choice between whipped cream and spread

At the heart of the problem, customers who wanted on June 26 to have waffles with both whipped cream and spread, says Loris at Parisian. Impossible, explains the cast member, who asks them to choose.

Visitors to the park indicate that previous customers did not have to choose and relate that Loris would have replied “in a nonchalant tone, ‘it’s my friends, I offer whipped cream, it’s normal'” . One of the customers subsequently complained.

A version of the facts that the ex-employee of Disneyland Paris denies. He tells the local daily that he put “a little whipped cream” on his colleagues’ waffles when there was no one around the kiosk. This same whipped cream which was not on the menu. He also denies having been nonchalant.

The young man says he is “disgusted”, after a year at the “irreproachable” park where visitors had taken the time to note his good work with his management.

The silent steering

Loris, supported by the CGT and the Unsa, is certain that he pays today for his speech in Le Monde, on June 7, during the strike of the cast members. The unions denounce a “witch hunt” which will not, however, stifle the social movement in progress.

“I am surprised at the lack of support from management because these visitors wanted something that was not on the menu”, also notes Anthony Adoux, member of Unsa Disneyland Paris.

Management has indicated that it will not comment on the case of Loris. The latter is considering initiating a procedure at the Prud’hommes.
