Do not respond to fake messages: Saudi Electricity Company warns people

Riyadh: Saudi Electricity Company has warned people not to respond to fake messages. The Saudi Electricity Company has informed that it should not respond to fake messages received through social media and e-mail asking to pay electricity bills through fake electronic links.

The company said that the only channel for payment is the ‘payment system’ through the platforms of Saudi banks. The action was taken after detection of fake messages and campaigns asking for payment of electricity bill.

At the same time, Saudi Arabia has warned that it will take strict action against the possession or production of black money for various purposes. A warning in this regard was given by the Public Prosecution. Officials said those who manufacture or possess coins or papers that look similar to the legally circulating currency in the country will face up to one year in prison and a fine of up to 2,000 riyals. At the same time, Saudi Arabia has stated that an announcement regarding the provision of insurance for domestic employment contracts will be made soon. The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development explained that the decision to link the insurance system with low-cost domestic employment contracts will be announced soon.
