Dr. Hossam Mowafi, Professor of Critical Cases at Kasr Al-Ainy College of Medicine, revealed a drug that people who have undergone heart stent surgery should take it for life.

Muwafi said during his program “My Lord, give me knowledge”, which is broadcast on Echo Al-Balad channel, that heart stent patients need to take aspirin throughout their lives, because it contributes to maintaining the fluidity of their blood.

The professor of critical care medicine added that aspirin effectively provides protection once morest blood clots for stent patients, provided that it is taken alongside a healthy lifestyle.

He also recommended heart stent patients to follow up with the attending physician every 4 months, to check on the health condition, with the need to expedite the visit in the event of any worrisome symptoms, such as chest pain.
