Last Monday, we announced that Domantas Sabonis and Joel Embiid had just won the title of player of the week in their respective conference. Today, again, the two interiors being again acclaimed by the NBA.
Definitely, the Lithuanian and the Cameroonian mark the spirits of the League at the moment. For the second time in a row, Sabonis and Embiid have therefore been voted players of the week, those who have offered new XXL performances in recent days.
Domas guided the Kings to a three-in-four record by posting an average… triple-double with 22.8 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assists, all complemented by 1.5 against and a success percentage of 59.3% in shooting and 83.3% in free throws. Figures that make you dizzy and allow the Kings to be second in the West today despite a slightly more discreet De’Aaron Fox in Sacramento’s last two games.
Regarding Joel Embiid, well, he continues to destroy everything in his path with his Sixers: 35 points per game, 12.7 rebounds, 5 assists, 3.3 blocks, as much to say that it is unplayable. Philadelphia won three more games under his leadership. Out of eight successes in a row, the Embiid band took second place in the East, ahead of Boston. So the more we advance, the more Joel seems to be ideally placed in the race for the MVP.
Other nominees in the West include De’Aaron Fox (Kings), Jalen Green (Rockets), Jaren Jackson Jr. (Grizzlies) and Austin Reaves (Lakers). In the East, Giannis Antetokounmpo (Bucks), Jimmy Butler (Heat), DeMar DeRozan (Bulls) and Evan Mobley (Cavaliers) also had serious records.
