Dominican Today grabs two nominations at Pasaporte Abierto 2023 International Tourism Journalism Award

Santo Domingo.- The World Tourism Journalism Organization (WTJO) announced the nominees for its International Tourism Journalism Award, Pasaporte Abierto 2023 (Open Passport), which this year will be given in Panama, and among the finalists is online newspaper Dominican Today.

The news outlet, the first of its kind in the Dominican Republic to be published in English and uninterruptedly, achieved two nominations: one in the category Specialized tourism media (for its tourism section, one of the most visited since its launching in 2005,) and in Investigative journalism, for the article “Specialized tourism for the rich variety of the Dominican Republic’s flora,” written by journalist and head of the tourism section, Adrian R. Morales González.

The announcement was made by Miguel Ledhesma, founding director of the WTJO, at the end of the 12th International Congress of Tourism Journalism, which this year was held in the Dominican Republic and focused on empathetic and effective communication in tourism.
