“I think he physically can’t do it”, “I think it’s hard for him to do it physically”, said Donald Trump, 76, in an interview with Nigel Farage, former leader of the Europhobe party and anti-immigration Ukip, converted television presenter.

Donald Trump, candidate against Joe Biden in 2024, said he was “very surprised” that the current president did not come to the coronation, judging this absence “very disrespectful”. Interviewed in a golf course that belongs to him in Scotland, Donald Trump assured that he would have come if he had still been in power.

Joe Biden, 80, will be represented by his wife Jill at the coronation. Never has an American president attended the coronation of a British monarch, American and British officials recently recalled.

The White House had insisted that the absence of Joe Biden otherwise known to be proud of his Irish roots “was not a mark of contempt”. Joe Biden has already accepted the king’s invitation to make a state visit to the United Kingdom.
