Donald Trump launched his race for the White House on Tuesday. “I announce my candidacy for the presidential election”said the 76-year-old former president, to thunderous applause from activists gathered in the large reception hall of his luxurious residence in Mar-a-Lago, Florida.
“In order to restore America’s greatness and glory, I announce my candidacy for the presidential election.“said the former president.” It’s not gonna be my campaign, it’s gonna be our campaign“, he promised to all the activists present. The former president thus took up his 2016 slogan “Make America Great Again” to restore it to “Make America Great and Glorious Again”, abbreviated MAGAGA. The acronym is a lot of fun for Internet users because it means “grandmother” in Finnish.The reactions were numerous and quickly relayed.

Others see in the acronym a resemblance to “Magog”, a biblical symbol of the apocalypse. “I wonder if any of the QAnon members have ever noticed that #MAGAGA bears an uncanny resemblance to Magog, one of the evil world powers mentioned in the Book of Revelation“, asks a user.

Trump also took advantage of the announcement of his candidacy to criticize his successor’s record.“Joe Biden embodies the failures of the left and Washington’s corruption”, did he declare. He also denounced that “The blood-paved streets of our once-grand cities are cesspools of violent crime”before promising that he would “restore and secure America’s borders”.
