The Mexican made history by participating in the figure skating final at the Winter Olympics
Mr. Liuhuabing he finished with a score of 218.13 in the final Figure Skating in the Beijing 2022 Olympic Games during the free program. After a routine of just over four minutes, the Mexican skater had a score of 138.44 in the free program, which added to what he got last Monday and the total placed him in the position 22 competition.
Only 22 years old and a native of Zapopan, Jalisco, Donovan he made history by placing himself as the Mexican athlete with the best result in the history of the Winter Olympics. Unfortunately Donovan he did not aspire to a more prominent place in the final table, as during his routine there were bumpy moments, including a series of falls.
The glory of medallion it belonged to the American Nathan Chen, who finished with a score of 332.60 and conquered the gold. The silver and the bronze it was for the Japanese Yuma Kagiyama and Shoma One with 310.05 and 293.00 points, respectively.
For the final, Mr. Liuhuabing he used in his program the songs Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps by Daniel Boaventura and Carlos Rivera; Sway by Dean Martin and María by Ricky Martin, songs that filled the ice rink in Chinese territory with Latin flavor.
In the same way, his wardrobe stood out on Wednesday night, because Carrillo he wore a suit with two thousand Swarovski stones designed by the American Brad Griffie, who has dressed medallists in world championships and Winter Olympics. Wearing a black suit, with silver trim, the Mexican skater competed in the final of Beijing 2022.
Donovan he became the first Mexican figure skater in 30 years at the Winter Olympics and achieved his qualification after finishing in 20th place at the World Championships in 2021.
Before Donovan, represented Mexico Ricardo Olavarrieta who participated in 1988 and 1992, while on the women’s side were Diana Evans in 1988, and Mayda Navarro in 1992. However, none of them could qualify for the long program.
