‘Don’t wear makeup, men should not see women’s faces’: Taliban push back Afghan

Kabul: The Taliban are taking Afghanistan back to its natural form. In a new order issued on Thursday, the Taliban ordered women presenters on all TV channels to cover their faces while presenting programs. The order has been sent to all media outlets in Afghanistan. The Taliban’s atrocities against Afghan women have been on the rise since the group seized power in Afghanistan in August last year.

The Taliban had earlier instructed women staff members of the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan to wear hijabs in their offices. In addition, Afghan women were barred from wearing makeup. They even banned girls’ education. Dozens of Afghan women are protesting against a Taliban leader’s new order requiring women to wear the hijab. The Taliban-led government is pretending not to even see the human rights of women.

The Taliban regime has changed the face of Afghanistan. Women who face all the restrictions were recently banned from going to restaurants. The Taliban have banned men and women from sitting together in restaurants. The terrorist group has ordered men and women to go to the parks on different days. In Herat, Afghanistan’s third largest city, there was a recent report that women were banned from issuing driving licenses and asked to cover their entire bodies.

One of the new decisions taken by the Taliban is not to even be together with her husband at the restaurant. The new order is from the Ministry of Moral Protection in West Herat province. The woman, who came with her family to Herat, was reportedly barred from eating with her husband. Women are being held in Taliban jails in Herat without trial for sitting in taxis without male companions. Schoolgirls are also punished for taking pictures with male classmates. Human rights and women’s rights in Afghanistan are openly violated under Taliban rule. The Taliban have now backtracked on their promise to rule more liberally than ever before.

A Taliban official said men and women should visit Herat’s parks on different days. Sirat said women have been asked to go to the parks on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. On other days men can go to the parks. If women want to exercise at this time, it is best to do it in their homes. Women have already been banned from going out alone across the country.
