End of alert for the Greek national team, after a report that an international football player was found to be dope.
According to information, UEFA informed the EPO that there is no positive sample of a Greek player, thus ending the alarm.
Doping case in the national team: “We have no information about a positive sample of a Greek football player”
Earlier, “dikisports”, through a publication, claimed that a positive sample was found of a Greek international football player who was included in the squad for the Euro 2024 playoffs match against Georgia in Tbilisi.
As was emphasized in the said publication, “the name will not be announced before the examination of the second sample, while it will only be made public if and as long as the second sample is positive. In any case, the Greek national team does not face any sanction, only the player”.
The website that published the news said its information was “confirmed by the Lausanne-based International Testing Agency”.

After the publication, the Hellenic Football Federation issued the following statement: “Regarding publications referring to the finding of a positive sample of a football player of the Men’s National Team, it is hereby announced that the Hellenic Football Federation has not received any relevant information.”
