“The winner of the men’s race Mark Kangogo tested positive for two substances banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) during the 49th edition of Sierre-Zinal. Disciplinary proceedings were initiated once morest him and the athlete was provisionally suspended. The breach might lead to the cancellation of the athlete’s results at Sierre-Zinal 2022. The procedure is ongoing. » noted Athletics Integrity Unit.
The final Men’s ranking for the 2022 edition is therefore suspended, pending the conclusions of the ongoing disciplinary proceedings. The management of Sierre-Zinal will not make any further comment on this case, until the conclusion of the disciplinary procedure.
