In the Democratic Republic of Congo, two races are launched 9 days before the election. That of candidates who seek to convince voters, and that of citizens who seek to obtain their voter cards once more. Distributed several weeks ago, a large number of cards have become completely illegible. Duplicate distribution centers are therefore open throughout the country so that voters can come and collect new cards.

Also in the news, in Nigeria, the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), met in Abuja. This opened the way this Sunday for a reduction of its sanctions once morest Niger. It conditions the country for a “short transition” before a return of civilians to power.

Finally, in Senegal, candidates have two weeks from this Monday to submit their files to the constitutional council. He will then have 40 days to publish the official list of candidates. Since the establishment of citizen sponsorship to take part in the vote, the presidential election in Senegal has become increasingly selective. In 2019, only 18% of applications were accepted by the Constitutional Council.
