Dubai | The head of the Dubai General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (Dubai Immigration), Lt. Gen. Mohammed Ahmad Al Marri, revealed that 1,610 fake travel documents were seized from various travelers in 20 months. He informed that the fake documents were caught with the help of Document Examination Center under GDRFA and personnel trained to detect various forgeries.

One of the main tasks of passport officers is to detect fake travel documents. The Lieutenant General explained that 761 fake travel documents were caught last year and 849 till August this year. There are 1,357 front-line officers serving Dubai Airports to ensure the best possible welcome to those arriving in Dubai and to stop counterfeiters at the borders.

The UAE and especially Dubai have achieved tremendous success in this sector by providing the highest standards of global services and implementing a variety of practices. UAE has a respectable image in the world as the most attractive destination for individuals from all over the world. Passport officers are therefore required by their national duty to protect and contain the same by fully discharging the duties assigned to them. Because, said Lt. Gen. Mohammed Ahmad Al Marri, the UAE is a place of tolerance.

He pointed out that passport officers need kindness, gentleness and a bright smile. He lauded the officials who were on round-the-clock service at the borders and received the guests well.
