Dubai received 3.67 million tourists in January-February 2024, according to figures released by the Dubai Tourism Department. An increase of over 18 percent over last year. According to the Tourism Performance Report released by DET, 1.77 million foreign visitors visited Dubai in January and 1.9 million in February.
Meanwhile, Europe is at the top in terms of visitors (7.73 lakh, 21%). It is followed by 6.04 lakh visitors (17%) from South Asia and 5.49 lakh visitors (15%) from Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
The number of visitors from CIS and Eastern Europe reached 5.3 lakh (14%), followed by 4.48 lakh visitors (12%) from the Middle East and North Africa. The number of visitors is 3.4 lakh from North and South East Asia, 2.4 lakh from America, 1.38 lakh from Africa and 53,000 from Australia.
An increase was also recorded in the availability of hotel rooms. In January-February 2023, there were 148,450 rooms available in 813 establishments, which increased to 151,269 in 826 establishments in 2024. The average room occupancy rate rose to 87 percent, a 3 percent increase over last year.
The average length of stay was 3.8 nights in January-February 2024 and the total number of rooms used rose to 7.78 million from 7.28 million in the same period last year.
