It helped to learn more about solar radiation, magnetic waves, and the atmosphere. NASA had earlier discovered that Mars has 3 haloes. Only the phenomenon visible during the day could be studied at that time.
The UAE spacecraft has taken more than 1.3 lakh images since entering Mars orbit. Valuable information was also collected on Mars’ atmospheric temperature, dust and moisture levels, and soil characteristics. It is assumed that one terabyte of data will be transferred in 2 years. The spacecraft is expected to be in service by 2025
