PSV beat Twente 3-1 in the round of 16 of the Dutch Cup this Wednesday evening. Two of Eindhoven’s three goals were scored by the Belgians. It is Yorbe Vertessen who distinguished himself by opening the scoring in the 19th minute on an assist from Luuk de Jong. The only goal scored in the first period.
In the second half, de Jong turned into a scorer before Johan Bakayoko scored his first Cup goal this season, the second of his PSV career in the competition. The reduction in Ugalde’s score did not allow Twente to get back into the game. As the last quarter of an hour approached, Vertessen was replaced by Noa Lang (ex-Club Bruges) while Bakayoko gave way to Hirving Lozano.
PSV continues the adventure and will face Feynenoord in the round of 16.
