The Netherlands intends to purchase a batch of FN MAG machine guns for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This has been reported by the Dutch Ministry of Defense.

The Belgian company FN Herstal is the manufacturer of the 7.62mm machine guns. The deal is valued at 111 million euros ($121 million). The number of machine guns is not specified.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces already use the FN MAG alongside the US version of the M240. The machine gun is designed for armored vehicles and infantry units. It is in service in more than eight dozen countries.
The first FN MAG was manufactured in 1958. In just 65 years some 200,000 machine guns came off the assembly line. The weapon weighed almost 11 kg, was 1.26 m long, 11.87 cm wide and 26.3 mm high. The FN MAG fires between 600 and 100 rounds, has a maximum range of 1.8 km and an aiming range of 1.2 km.
