Dynamo Dresden: Markus Beginning wants a fair Sachsenderby against FC Erzgebirge Aue!

“Because we’re almost exclusively in the training center and I usually just lay in bed to get fit, I didn’t notice it that much.”

But the fact that things are tingling a little more than usual in the club hasn’t escaped the coach’s attention either: “Of course, the staff notice that this is a special game. That has to be the case, after all, we play football for something like that in the first place. But we have no other task than usual: bring performance to the pitch and win!”

Beginning has already fought quite a few derby battles as a player and coach. It doesn’t matter whether it’s with Leverkusen against Cologne, or as Schalke against Dortmund, “you notice the explosiveness of the special and how the atmosphere crackles,” said Beginning.

However, it is always important to the football teacher that things are fair in terms of sport, both on and off the field: “When derbies are heated and poison and bile are involved, that’s totally fine. Everything can be lived out as long as it’s sporty and on the field Space remains! It’s about a competition, but it should remain calm on the outside. The main actors are the boys on the pitch.”

Whether the ailing regulars Christian Conteh (23) and Niklas Hauptmann (26) are part of it will only become clear shortly before kick-off.
