At the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, the Banking and Industrial Police (PBI) and the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) of Mexico City will carry out security and surveillance work to guarantee that the Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) 2024 Electronic Music Festival , is carried out free of violence and objects that endanger the physical integrity of the public.
For this musical event, the SSC will deploy 1,351 members of the Undersecretary of Police Operations supported by 69 official vehicles, 24 motorcycles, nine cranes, three drones, and a helicopter from the Executive Directorate of Cóndores Air Services, which will carry out deterrence overflights. and prevention.
Meanwhile, for this edition of the world-class electronic festival, the PBI will have 1,164 personnel, who will be distributed in different parts of the venue, with the support of the canines Hector, Molly, Layla, Ginger, Kira, Toshka, Simba and Randy , specialized in the detection of explosives, narcotics and drugs; in addition to anti-riot teams, nine patrols and surveillance towers that will report the development of the festival in real time.
The bank uniforms will be located at emergency exits, “Tubular North”, “Tubular South” accesses, sanitary equipment, venue stages, food area and medical service. Additionally, in coordination with the Canine Unit, the canines will carry out access checks and ground inspections in the different scenarios.
For people attending the EDC, the PBI recommends deciding on a meeting point in case of possible loss of contact or communication given the crowding of people. You may also enter with the following objects: small bags, single-compartment backpacks, handbags (maximum 30cm x30cm), cell phones and chargers (portable batteries).
In addition, fanny packs, sunglasses and hats, cream sunscreen and medications prescribed by a doctor that are not expired (must show the doctor’s prescription and consult with a security officer upon entry), powder makeup and tampons or sanitary pads in closed packaging.
They will also be allowed to bring dolls and inflatable chairs or sofas, duly deflated before entering the festival. Likewise, other objects such as soft chemical lights or costumes that have chemical lights and are not projectiles, hula hoops (including those with LED lights), handmade flags or banners, non-professional flash cameras and recording cameras that are less than 12 centimeters and extendable selfie sticks.
Finally, you are reminded that some of the prohibited objects are illegal substances, drugs, lasers or bugles, harsh chemical lights that can serve as projectiles, over-the-counter medications, liquid makeup, perfumes, aerosols, deodorants, glass cups, cans, glasses or coolers, external food or drinks (especially alcoholic beverages), markers, feathers or canned paint, long chains or jewelry with spikes, weapons (including knives, pepper spray, fireworks), or stuffed animals.
During the three days of the festival, SSC troops will maintain constant tours, as part of police actions against the resale of tickets, at the entrances and areas surrounding the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.
For their part, the uniformed personnel of the Undersecretary of Traffic Control will carry out a road safety device, with traffic cuts and will provide alternative routes to drivers to guarantee the mobility of pedestrians, as well as motorists.
In this way, to circulate in the area, Transit personnel recommend the following alternatives: Ignacio Zaragoza road, Eje 4 Norte Canal Río Churubusco, Té and Plutarco Elías Calles avenues, as well as Eje 3 Oriente Francisco del Paso and Troncoso.
