A total of 384 students from Ukraine have joined the Geneva school since the start of the war. Others will arrive, even if the forecasts as to their number are difficult, explains the State Councilor in charge of Public Instruction, Anne Emery-Torracinta. The magistrate invited the press on Wednesday to take stock of the reception of refugee students. Thus, 22 reception classes were opened to absorb the arrival of Ukrainians – 10 in primary school, 5 in the Orientation cycle and 7 in secondary II. Two retired teachers have been recalled, a dozen replacements hired, and work rates for current teachers have been increased.
