Al-Marsad newspaper: Informed sources in the Ministry of Education revealed that there is no truth to what was circulated about the Minister of Education’s approval of the Shura Council’s recommendation to cancel the three-semester system in the new school year in the next academic year, stressing that the ministry has not issued any approval until this moment.
The sources said that there is no truth to what was circulated on this subject, stressing that the ministry is constantly working on measuring performance indicators in the educational field, according to “Al-Youm”.
On Wednesday, the Shura Council affirmed that the Ministry of Education should reconsider the application of the three academic semester system (the three-year system) to Saudi universities and technical colleges affiliated with the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation, in line with best practices and global trends in the field of higher education, and consistent with the independence of universities according to its system.
