Efficient and Eco-friendly Makkah Bus Service: Connecting all areas and improving the lives of residents and visitors

Makkah – Makkah bus service started following trial run. During the one-and-a-half-year trial run in which 400 buses participated, 100 million passengers were transported to their destinations through 1.7 lakh trips. The test run started in February 2022. Makkah Bus has 438 stations on 12 routes covering 560 km.

Connecting all areas of Makkah city, this bus service is fast, safe and eco-friendly. Buses have special seats for the physically challenged. The Makkah Bus Project is one of the Vision 2030 projects to serve God’s guests. According to the commission, the project has been able to reduce crowding in the city of Makkah and fulfill the aspirations of residents and visitors.

The project aims to create more employment opportunities for Saudi women and men in the public transport sector, achieve growth in the economic sector and raise the standard of living of the people.
