Contract to transport goods by rail from Suhar, Oman to UAE. Oman Rail and Etihad Rail Company signed an MoU with Jindal in this regard.
Under the contract, Jindal will be able to transport 40 lakh tonnes of raw materials and iron products per annum from Suhar to the UAE by rail. The rail company will also provide technical assistance for loading and unloading of iron products. Through this, the company will be able to deliver more goods to the respective centers at a lower cost. Rail company officials said that through this, Oman and the UAE will ensure an environment-friendly transport system and freight movement.
Oman-Etihad Rail Company has entered into agreements for freight transportation with world-class companies. The rail network connecting Suhar to Abu Dhabi in the UAE is expected to be completed within five years. The 200 km/h speed on the route connecting Suhar and Abu Dhabi will speed up freight movement.
