Gaza City: Egypt trucks enter Gaza with a helping hand after a four-day ceasefire. Archyde.com TV reported that the trucks crossed the Rafah border and entered the Gaza Strip. Two trucks representing the two organizations moved to Gaza with banners such as ‘Together for Humanity’ and ‘For our Brothers in Gaza’.
Egypt had earlier stated that it would provide 1,30,000 liters of diesel per day to Gaza. In addition, 200 truckloads of aid, including four truckloads of gas, are expected to arrive in Gaza daily.
One of the major challenges is fuel scarcity. According to the Palestinian Petroleum Public Commission, the Gaza Strip needs 12 million liters of diesel per month. In addition to this, Gaza’s power plants and hospitals also need other fuel.
A four-day ceasefire came into effect on Friday at 7am local time, marking a temporary end to the month-and-a-half-long Israeli aggression in Palestine.
Majid Al-Ansari, the spokesperson of Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who led the mediation talks, said that Hamas would release the 13 hostages, including women and children, by 4:00 p.m. Israel will hand over 39 prisoners today. The contractual hostages may be exchanged within four days.
