Al-Marsad Newspaper: The Egyptian police arrested content makers Basma Hegazy, famous for Warda, Mohamed Hossam, and others, following they published the satirical “The Visit” video.
The clip depicts a comic scene, which sparked criticism on the media, following they were charged with terrorism.
The competent investigative authorities in Egypt ordered the imprisonment of Muhammad Hossam El-Din, known as “Basa” and Basma Hegazy, known as “Warda”, for 15 days pending investigations.
The investigation authorities accused the accused of participating in a terrorist group whose goals are to spread false news and disturb public peace and security, according to Egyptian media.
The decision came following the concerned investigative authorities monitored Basma Hijazi broadcasting false news and joining a terrorist group.
