Honored coach of Russia in figure skating Elena Buyanova spoke about working with the 2020 European champion Alena Kostornaya.
Today, the figure skater is hospitalized for surgery for a hip injury.
“It (health) turned out to be even worse than I expected. We agreed with her – let’s just try (work together). So that both I and she herself could understand how she can work after two fractures in a row, which also happened for a reason.
She came to me even more psychologically vulnerable, with a fear of jumping. She was afraid to land and break her arm again.

She added that Kostornaya is “very dashing, curious – even too much.”
“We haven’t been able to try for real yet, but I can’t leave her in the current situation. I accepted her with my soul and became attached to her, ”said the coach.
