The artist, Elham Shaheen, revealed that she was a student of Dr. Ahmed Halawa in the eighties, and he was one of the closest teachers to the students.
She said, in exclusive statements to “Masrawy”: “We loved his share, because he was very nice, cheerful, and was able to communicate information smoothly and easily.”
She confirmed that besides his mastery of teaching, he was an artist with the same skill and creativity, especially in comedy, and added: “He was good at creating a comic situation, and he was a beautiful artist, may God have mercy on him.”
Ahmed Halawa left our world yesterday, Friday, March 25. He was born on January 7, 1949. He is the nephew of the late great artist Fayez Halawa. He graduated from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts, and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Communications Engineering in 1969, and a Bachelor’s degree at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in acting and directing from the Academy of Arts in Cairo in 1973, and obtained a postgraduate diploma from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in directing in 1990, and a doctorate in Philosophy of Arts from the University of Theatrical Art and Film in Bucharest in Romania.
Ahmed Halawa has held several positions, including a teaching assistant in the Acting and Directing Department of the Academy of Arts at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts, and a theater specialist in mass culture at the Ministry of Culture. He worked as a director at the National Theater and artistic supervisor for the Vanguard Theater. He contributed to the establishment of the Department of Theater Sciences at the Faculty of Arts, Helwan University as a professor in the Acting and Directing Department. He directed and wrote many plays that represented Egypt in international and local festivals, and won many artistic awards.
Ahmed Halawa participated in many artistic works, including: “Tears in rude eyes, Raafat Al-Hajan, the thief and the book, the people of Cairo, the lost man, the choice, the tiger, the big brother, my soul mate” and others, and his latest work is the movie “Some do not go to the authorized twice.” last year.
