Fantastic festivities across London in honor of the 70th anniversary of Elizabeth II on the throne could have passed without a hero of the occasion. The queen did not want to see her subjects until the last, and there was a good reason for that.
The health of the 96-year-old monarch did not allow her to go to London for the parade, but a call from Prince Charles convinced her to change her mind. The British are happy, the royal family is too, but now the whole world knows that Elizabeth II burst into tears shortly before going out to the people.
