Elon Musk, who bought Twitter last year (before renaming it X), said the company is “moving toward a small monthly payment for using System access to the platform — a statement that comes after Musk has slowly placed more X features behind paid access locks (paywalls).
Musk, who made the statement during a livestreamed conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, said X would be released with a “price range” of a “small amount of money” that all users would pay, in addition to the premium service, X Blue.

He said that creating such a system is “the only way I can think of to combat the many armies of hackers” (bots).
