Elton John thinks being a good parent is the “hardest thing in the world”.
The 76-year-old singer had Zachary, 12, and Elijah, 10, with husband David Furnish, and he hopes he will be remembered as a ‘great dad’ as he loves the ‘challenge’ “what is the education of his sons.
He told Radio Times magazine: “I would like to be remembered as a great father.
So my sons can say, when I’m gone, “My God, we had the best life possible with dad. And we were never afraid. I think the hardest thing in the world is to to be a good parent. And I never thought I would be a parent. But I love the challenge of it. I get so much joy and fun being with these boys and David. It’s just phenomenal .”
Being a parent also allowed Elton to integrate into his local community for the first time.
He said: “I’ve lived here since 1975 and didn’t know anyone in Old Windsor until I had Zachary. It’s crazy, isn’t it? They’re still out there, they have their own little community with their friends. I’m all for it. thrilled. I had never been part of the community until I had the kids. And that feels good too.”
