PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Joel Embiid had 27 points and 10 rebounds, Tyrese Maxey added 25 points and the Philadelphia 76ers won for the sixth time, beating the Boston Celtics 106-103 on Wednesday.

The Sixers are the only 6-1 team in the Eastern Conference. Their only loss came in the opening game of the campaign.

Kristaps Porzingis led the Celtics with 29 points, while Derrick White, who returned following missing two games due to the birth of his son, added 19.

Philadelphia looked motivated for the first duel between these rivals since they met in the last East semifinal.

The 76ers blew a 3-2 lead in that series and collapsed in the sixth and seventh games. This led to a difficult summer.

Coach Doc Rivers was fired and replaced by Nick Nurse. James Harden soon demanded a trade to leave and did not play in a Sixers uniform once more.
