Heather had planned everything. For his 6th as a child, she still wanted to think outside the box and give birth in water. Everything was well planned with the midwives. So, as she began to feel slight contractions at her workplace, she preferred to leave nothing to chance: she fully intended to contact the midwives to join her at home. But, without wanting to rush either, she told herself that she still had time to go do some shopping with her children. However, while she was driving, her contractions got closer together and the pain continued to intensify. She then tried to drive a little faster to get home, but after a while she felt like she had to stop. “ I was having mild contractions before going out, so I figured I had time to run an errand “, she said. Even though she felt her baby’s arrival was imminent, Heather was convinced it wouldn’t arrive that quickly. “ I thought I wouldn’t have my baby in my arms until eight or ten o’clock “, she says. “ I pulled over, reassured the kids that everything was okay, then grabbed my phone and got out of the car “, she continues.
But the mother-to-be did not have time to realize what was happening.
