The People’s Power, the government, and the President’s Office held an emergency meeting yesterday (3rd), the day before the ‘Public Education Stop Day’ announced by teachers, and discussed countermeasures.

Teachers across the country have announced that they will have a memorial time and hold a rally today (4th) using love and sick leave to coincide with the 49th memorial day of a teacher who died at an elementary school in Seocho-gu, Seoul.

The party and government held a private high-ranking party and government meeting yesterday afternoon at the Prime Minister’s Office in Samcheong-dong, Seoul, and discussed measures related to teachers’ collective action today (4th) and the progress of the restoration of teacher authority.

The council was attended by party leader Kim Ki-hyun, floor leader Yoon Jae-ok, policy committee chairman Park Dae-tae, and secretary-general Lee Chul-gyu.

At the council, the ruling party discussed plans to expedite comprehensive measures to restore teacher authority, including the ‘Four Acts for Restoration of Teacher Authority’ announced by the Ministry of Education at the end of last month.

The ‘Four Acts for Restoring Teacher Rights’ is an amendment to the Teacher Status Act, the Basic Education Act, the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, and the Early Childhood Education Act, which include contents such as not treating teachers’ legitimate life guidance as child abuse and making the school principal responsible for handling civil complaints.

Today (4th), in front of the National Assembly, Seoi-cho teacher 49 remembrance rally was held, and Wonnae Yoon attended and decided to convey his condolences.

In a Facebook post the day before, Park Dae-chul, chairman of the Policy Committee, wrote, “Education should not stop even for a moment.”
