ABU DHABI, 13th June, WAM/ His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, received a student delegation from the Faculty of Mass Communication at Damascus University, who are visiting the country as part of an initiative to support distinguished Arab youth in the field of media.
His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan welcomed the student delegation, Dr. Amal Melhem, founder of AM Media, the founder of the initiative, Dr. Muhammad Al-Omar, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication at Damascus University, and a number of academic leaders.
His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan stressed that the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, “may God protect him”, has made the media sector an important tool in advancing the sustainable development process that the country is witnessing in various sectors and fields.
His Excellency added that the UAE provided an inspiring media experience through a responsible and reliable media sector that contributed to spreading the principles of tolerance, coexistence and human brotherhood in society and the world, all of which are well-established principles and values that made the UAE a leading global model in peaceful coexistence, synergy, fraternity and human solidarity.
For her part, Dr. Amal Melhem confirmed that the UAE is one of the leading countries in the field of media through the diversity witnessed by the sector, in addition to being the headquarters of the most important audio-visual and print media institutions in the world, which makes it the top of the interest of young media graduates.
